(Hints: location—the specialties—local name of the island—description of natural beauties. ) Saint Martin’s Island Bangladesh is a land of natural beauty. Saint Martin’s Island is one of the most striking tourist spots of our country. It is a small island in the northeastern part of the Bay of Bengal. It is about 9 kilometers west of the northwest coast of Myanmar, at the mouth of the Naf River. The local name of the island is ‘Narikel Gingira’. It is the only coral island in Bangladesh. There are various beautiful corals of different shapes and colours in the blue waters of the Bay of Bengal are also found here. The beautiful turtles that nest on the island and variety of sea fishes are found as well. The natural beauty of the island is beyond description. It is not only a place of natural beauty but also a source of earning. Every year thousands of people visit this island and enjoy the beauty of our beloved motherland.
