The Olympic Games The Olympic Games is the leading international sporting event. It is the biggest sports competition. In the Olympic Games more than 200 nations participate with the interval of every four years. The tradition of the Olympic Games comes from the Greece. The Greeks first held it at the altar of the Mount Olympus 3000 years ago. Later it was founded by Baron Pierre de Coubertin. He is considered as the father of modern Olympic Games. To implement the visionary thought of Baron, he founded the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1894. Now over 13,000 athletes compete in 33 different sports in the Olympic Games. Actually Olympic Games is the new form of the ancient Olympic Games that commenced in 776 BC. Rio D Jeneiro of Brazil has obtained the honour to be the host city of next Olympic Games. Millions of people, especially the younger eagerly wait for the Olympic Games from which they quench the thirst of enjoyment
